Mighty Minis Racing
Affordable mini racing for all
Under new ownership for 2026
The history of Mighty Minis Racing
Mighty Minis racing was introduced in 1996 by founder Rodger Tello who owned a London based specialist Mini garage called Mighty Minis. Rodger was passionate about motorsport and in his prime a very competitive driver.
After many years of diligently building and maintaining successful Mini Cooper ‘S’ cars, that competed in historic Mini rallying in both the UK and Europe, it was the introduction of the Rover Mini SPi that sparked an idea to introduce an affordable well -policed circuit racing championship in the UK.
The first race was at Cadwell Park in 1996 with just three cars. Such was the success of the concept, it grew exponentially and another category was introduced, the ‘Super Mighty Minis,’ with some performance upgrades. It was clear that there were many highly tuned Minis that could be brought together under one roof and the introduction of the Xtreme Mighty Minis was also added to the Mighty Minis portfolio.

Alongside the Mini racing, Rodger also founded Mini Racing Festival Ltd and introduced the Mini Racing Festival to bring the entire Mini community together at a dedicated event once a year. It was first held at Mallory Park for two years then moved onto Donington Park. Rodger then created the Mini 45 at Silverstone in 2004 and finally in 2005 the Mini racing festival at Brands Hatch.

In 2026 Mighty Minis will be under new ownership/management carrying on the ethos of affordable Mini racing and will remain with the 750MC as the organizing club, long may it continue. You will not find a more affordable Mini championship with such a great history and provenance to compete in.
